(Please note: this is an unpaid position)
About TranScreen:
TranScreen is the longest-running transgender film festival in Europe. The festival takes place every year in May (Ascension Day) in Amsterdam. Around coming-out-day in October, we also have a one-day festival in The Hague and, throughout the year, we host various separate screenings and talks. All of our events program trans and gender-diverse creators and films. The festival and the organization are entirely volunteer-based.
Vacancy
We are currently looking for team members who specifically want to focus on one of these tasks:
- Festival production/organization
Good to know: all members of the team work together on programming. So, as a new member, you
will also have a say in the programming if you want to! As well as TranScreen Amsterdam, we also
organise a recurring event in The Hague. So, if you’re living in The Hague – that’s a bonus! - Updating the website (WordPress)
- Finance/sponsorship
What we expect:
- You are available for approximately 2 to 4 hours per week during the ‘off season’. In the run-up to
the festival, this will likely increase. However, there will also be quieter weeks across the year to
compensate for the busy festival period. - You are enthusiastic and proactive. You like to take responsibility for your tasks and for the festival.
- Enthusiasm and a proactive attitude are more important than experience.
We offer
- We are a friendly, open, and gender-diverse team that would love to welcome you.
- You will get the chance to work towards more inclusive representation of transgender and gender-diverse people in film and society.
- You will get the chance to develop your organizational skills within an international, non-profit film festival (In short: prepare for lots of films and lots of festival experience!)
Want to know more? Contact us at transcreen@gmail.com. We would love to tell you more about the vacancies! The application process will include an introductory conversation, where we will discuss what we expect from each other. We would like to emphasize once again that enthusiasm and a proactive attitude are more important than experience.
We look forward to meeting you!
